Lodging close to the heathlands and lake Hillebachsee

“Brabantse” cosiness paired with the amenities of the Sauerland is what you will enjoy in our bed and breakfast Gretel von Birne in the health resort Niedersfeld. You stay in a quiet place directly at the edge of a forest but still close to the village centre. Within a five minute walk you can reach lake Hillebachsee which is the highest located mountain lake in North Rhine-Westphalia. There you can relax at the lido or do water skiing or wake boarding.

In our four modern, light flooded and nicely furnished double rooms with separate shower and toilet you will feel completely at ease. For families there two spacious rooms with bunk beds for the children. Some of the rooms have a balcony and all rooms are equipped with a flat screen tv. Free WiFi is accessible throughout the house.
We, the dutch couple Petrus and Margriet de Lepper, will spoil you in our breakfast room with bar and comfortable lounge area by the fireside.

Start your hike our bike tour through the region right from our house. Motorbike friends enjoy fantastic curves and long straight streets, steep climbs and scenic valleys.
In summer the Sauerland is a green paradise, in autumn a beautiful play of colours and in winter a white wonderland. The holiday destination Winterberg offers slopes with a total length of more than 50 km for skiers, 150 km of certified and connected quality cross country slopes as well as cleared quality winter hiking routes of 1,2 to 9 km length.

Along the house there is a hiking path towards the environmentally protected heathland of Niedersfeld: the view from here is absolutely stunning.  Make a stop for a bite to eat or something to drink at the Hochheidehütte.  You can also buy provisions for your hike at the bakery or the local greengrocer’s nearby.

Sie wohnen ruhig am Waldrand und sind doch nah am Zentrum. Binnen fünf Minuten erreichen Sie NRWs höchstgelegenen Bergsee, den Hillebachsee, zu Fuß. Dort entspannen Sie im Strandbad mit Kinderspielplatz oder fahren Wasserski und Wakeboard.
In unseren vier modernen, hell und freundlich eingerichteten Doppelzimmern mit separater Dusche und WC werden Sie sich rundum wohl fühlen. Familien stehen zwei großzügige Räume mit Etagenbetten für die Kids zur Verfügung. Einige Zimmer verfügen über einen Balkon - und alle sind mit einem Flachbildschirm ausgestattet. Im ganzen Haus ist freies WLAN zugänglich. Wir, das holländische Ehepaar Petrus und Margriet de Lepper, verwöhnen Sie in unserem Frühstücksraum mit Bar und gemütlicher Sitzgelegenheit am Kamin.

Starten Sie von uns aus Ihre Wander- oder Fahrradtour durch die Region. Motorradfreunde erfreuen sich an Traumkurven und langen Geraden, steilen Anstiegen und malerischen Tälern. Im Sommer ist das Sauerland ein grünes Paradies, im Herbst ein farbenfrohes Schauspiel und im Winter ein weißes Wunderland. Die Ferienwelt Winterberg bietet dann für die Skifahrer Abfahrten mit mehr als 50 Kilometern Länge, 150 Kilometer zertifizierte, vernetzte Qualitätsloipen sowie geräumte Qualitäts-Winterwanderwege von 1,2 bis neun Kilometern Länge.

Am Haus entlang führt ein Wanderweg zur naturgeschützten Niedersfelder Hochheide: Die Aussicht ist einfach grandios. Dort können Sie in der Hochheidehütte einkehren. Wander-Proviant bekommen Sie auch beim nahe gelegenen Bäcker oder im Obst- und Gemüseladen.
